How did we get here
Profectus AI was created out of a clear need: to automate trading strategies quickly, so they can be tested, proven, and used to trade consistently.
Founders Nico, Joost, and Max entered the trading world at a young age, full of energy and curiosity. But over the years, they realized something critical, life gets busy. You work, you sleep, you spend time with people you care about.
Meanwhile, the markets never stop. With trading happening 24 hours, it became clear that true consistency couldn’t be achieved manually. Automation wasn’t just useful, it was essential.
That introduced a new challenge: how do you automate if you don’t know how to code? Learning to program takes years. Even if you can code, you’ll never move as fast as a platform built for rapid building. And in trading, success comes from testing many strategies until you find the one that works for you.

Joost Cardol and Max Nieveld began their trading journeys during their finance studies, quickly developing a deep passion for financial markets.
Joost moved into market making and options trading at a fund, while Max focused on both manual and automated trading, laying the foundation to later start a AFM regulated hedgefund and Profectus AI.
Nico Schirrmacher joined the team, completing the founding trio.
Together, they started automating manual trading strategies, driven by a clear need: reduce discretion, eliminate inconsistency, and move toward a fully data-driven approach.
After years of trading and building internally, the founders made a decision: Create a platform that allows any trader, with or without coding experience, to automate their trading strategies.
Profectus AI was born from this vision.
In June 2025, Profectus AI officially launched.
